The Development Blended Training Module Based on Plant Maintenance Occupational Standard

Abstract


Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop the Plant Maintenance Occupational Standard, to improve the Blended Training Model, and to enhance the Blended Training module based on Plant Maintenance Occupational Standard in Unit of Competency Maintenance Hydraulic System. The process consists of 5 steps. Firstly, to develop the Plant Maintenance Occupational, 11 of highly qualified persons had evaluated and commented the standard and finally achieves to have a completed revised standard in the form of ‘Functional Map’ which consists of 5 Key Functions, 33 Unit of Competency and 86 Element of Competency. Secondly, the system approach is selected to improve the Blended Training Model. 5 experts had evaluated and commented the suitability of the form which the results are in the range of ‘Good’ to ‘Best’. Thirdly, to enhance the Blended Training module, 5 experts had identified the conformity between behavioral objectives and evaluation criteria, the quality of the test and evaluation form, and the suitability of training module. The result of this process had been rated in the range of ‘Good’ and ‘Best’. Then, the Blended Training module had been performed into 2 section; Traditional training and Online training.  Developed Blended Training module had been used with 18 samplings. The results showed that the sampling group scores more than 80 percent and give the rate ‘Good’ for the satisfaction of training process. Lastly, the trainee had been Assessment by 3 Assessors using documentary evaluation and online evaluation. The result of Competency Assessment is estimated from the trace evidences from the training,
