Developing of Instruction by Instruction that Integrated Discovery Learning Strategies and Google Earth Application in Geography Subject for Improving Student Learning Achievement in Geography Subject for Students in Mathayomsuksa 1

Abstract


The purposes of this research are 1) To examine and compare learning achievement of the students of Mathayomsuksa 1 before and after using instruction that integrated discovery learning strategies and Google Earth application in Geography subject and 2) To explore students’ opinions toward instruction of Geography subject that integrate discovery learning strategies and Google Earth application of students in Mathayomsuksa 1. Purposive sampling was used in this study and the samples were 30 students who studied in Mathayomsuksa 1 in academic year of 2017 at Hinkong Wittayakhom School. Research tools included 1) the instruction that integrated discovery learning strategies and Google Earth application in Geography subject, and 2) Pretest and Posttests and 3) a survey of students' opinions. The results of the study revealed that 1) the average of the Post-test scores was higher than Pre-test scores at the significance level of .05 2) the students' opinions toward instructions was at the highest level (= 21.62). The recommendations for future research were 1) Should study about pure discovery method. and 2) In this research, each student has different skill to use Google Earth. Therefore, in the next research, researchers should study the factors that affect the use of Google Earth Student Teaching.
