Needs Assessment of Teachers Towards the Practice of Bilingual Schools

Abstract


This research objectives were 1) to study actual perception and anticipate perception of teachers towards the practice of the bilingual elementary schools under the department of education Bangkok metropolitan administration. 2) to assess the needs of teachers towards the practice of the bilingual elementary schools under the department of education Bangkok metropolitan administration, Classified by school size, The sample group of this research is consisted of the school director and teachers in classified by school size. the bilingual schools, a total of 338 persons by multi-stage random sampling, The tools used on this research is rating scale on analysis data by mean, standard deviation and modified priority needs index, which has the confidence level of 0.973 of the actual perception and the confidence of 0.887 of the anticipated perception. The results of research that 1) the actual perception of teachers towards the practice, is at a high level (mean=4.14, SD = 0.46) and at the highest level of anticipation (mean = 4.68, SD = 0.39), teachers in a moderate school have actual perception at a high level (mean = 3.97, SD = 0.23) and at the highest level of anticipation (mean = 4.56, SD = 0.18), teachers in a small school have actual perception, is at a high level (mean = 3.86, SD = 0.29) and at the high level of anticipation (mean = 4.48, SD = 0.19) 2) teachers have the needs towards the practice of the bilingual schools. The results of research that, In the large schools, moderate school and small school, teachers have the needs towards the practice of the bilingual schools. For the arrangement of lessons, exercises, supplementary books in the bilingual schools.
