Development of an Online Training Application System of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok

Abstract


This study aims to 1) examine basic information the current training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, 2) develop an online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, 3) evaluate the quality of the online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, and 4) evaluate the satisfaction in the online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute. The participants in this study included 30 personnel of the Thai-French Innovation Institute and 35 academic service users subscribing to attend training with the Thai-French Innovation Institute. The instruments used for data collection were (1) an in-depth interview form to elicit information from training officers on the current training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, (2) a newly developed online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, (3) an evaluation form to seek experts’ satisfaction in the quality of the online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute, and (4) an evaluation form to seek the personnel’s satisfaction in the quality of the online training application system of the Thai-French Innovation Institute and the academic service users of the Thai-French Innovation Institute. The statistics used for data analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation. It was found that 1) the current training application system, most of those interested in the training would choose to apply via their smartphones, submit an application form to the Training Section via fax, or apply in person at the Training Section of the Thai-French Innovation Institute. In addition, the training officers had some guidelines and expectation to carry out online training application via the Internet to facilitate the applicants and to receive clear application information; 2)  the new online training application system has been developed for the Thai-French Innovation Institute to facilitate the applicants and training officers, which consists of a registration form, post-registration name check, administrator, applicants, and training officers; 3) the overall evaluation of the online training application system quality was at the highest level (x= 4.68). When each aspect was considered individually, it was found that the system was easy to use, not complicated, had appropriate font and background colors, with the evaluation result of the experts accounting for 100%; 4) the overall satisfaction in the online training application system was at a high level (x= 4.33). Moreover, the satisfaction in all the individual aspects was at a high level, having application process and procedures, overall utilization, and system efficiency as the three aspects with the highest satisfaction, evaluate overall of academic service users was at the highest level (x=4.30) and the satisfaction in all individual aspects was at the high level the same.
