Training Curriculum Development for the Heads of Departments to Manage Teacher Training on Participatory for Enterprises Internship

Abstract


The purposes of this research were 1) to develop and evaluate the appropriateness of the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship and 2) to develop and evaluate the proficiency of the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship. The research was research and development and experimental research. The research targets were 420 participants included management team, department heads and teachers in vocational institutes under the Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and private enterprises. The results can be concluded as follows. 1) The participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship consisted of 3 main components, i.e. 1) the stakeholders from vocational institutes and the enterprises, 2) the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship using Deming Cycle, and 3) the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship validated by specialists. The results of the evaluation showed that the developed training program was very high appropriateness complying with the research hypothesis. 2) The results of the efficiency evaluation of the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship revealed that the training program consisted of: 1) the handbooks for the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship evaluated at high appropriateness and 2) the curriculum for the participatory training course for department heads on the teacher training management in enterprise internship evaluated by CIPP Model. The evaluation of the training course according to CIPP Model showed that the context evaluation revealed high congruence between the 3 topics and the objectives of the training course with very high appropriateness. The input evaluation presented high appropriateness and high congruence in every aspect. The try-out of the training course showed that the achievement on the theoretical aspect was 83.65/ 82.32 and that of the practical part was 80.42 The process evaluation showed that the achievement score of the theoretical part was 84.61/ 83.68 and that of the practical part was 80.60 higher than the set criteria on both theory and practice. Moreover, the trainees reported high satisfaction on the training course. The product evaluation revealed that the superiors of the vocational institutes reported high satisfaction on the application of the trained knowledge of both skills and know-how to arrange the training in the enterprises. The superiors also reported high appropriateness on the management handbook, the handbook of department heads, teacher handbook, and the handbook for enterprises.
